I’ve always been a silent observer. It gives me ample time to gather my strengths and weaknesses. “Living through others’ experiences” they call it. To me it’s a way of introspection, I put myself in the situation I see in front of me and mentally react to it. I find myself doing this at any and perhaps every social gathering, I think to myself, would I wear this? say this? be that loud? drink like a fish? – in return I’m the shy one. Well, I prefer not to define myself as the socially shy or socially slow (as I am finding myself to be these days) but this exercise helps me be a calmer person.
